Antique German silver mesh purse, a highly popular fashion accessory dating back to the late Victorian and Edwardian eras (circa 1890s–1920s).
Despite its name, "German silver" (or nickel silver) actually contains no real silver; it is a durable copper alloy containing nickel and zinc, widely valued for its ability to take a high polish and resist tarnish.
The bag is constructed from flexible, hand-linked ring mesh (chainmail) and accented with small decorative metal drops or beads along the bottom hem.
It showcases an ornate, embossed kiss-lock frame featuring intricate floral or Art Nouveau cherub scrollwork with distinctive wing-like outer flared corners.
Care and Cleaning: Avoid submerging the mesh in harsh chemicals. Wipe gently with a soft cloth.
6.5" x 5.5". 16" long chain. No Lining inside. Partially darkened, but can be polished. Some threads on one side, may be it was attempted to alter or repair it. Stamped "German Silver".
Approx. weight: 247g
Pre-owned vintage item. Good condition for it's age. Partial discoloration. Sold as is, as seen on pictures, no returns on vintage/antique items. We do not alter/polish antique items (unless requested by buyer) and try to keep items as original as possible.

We DO NOT refund for "buyer's remorse". We do not accept returns.
If a buyer returns an item, the buyer will pay all return shipping fees.
A 10% restocking fee will be subtracted from the amount of the item.
No shipping fees will be returned.
